Track & Field for Upper Elementary Students

Upper Elementary Track and Field Meet

Our home educated children in grades 4 - 6 have the opportunity to take part in the annual Moncton Christian Academy Track and Field Meet. This is usually held in May (a Friday last year) at the in-door fieldhouse at the CEPS facility at U de Moncton and includes students from many Maritime Christian schools. This event runs from around 9 am until awards at 3:30 pm and emphasizes "fun and friendly competition." There are four divisions: Jr. Boys, Jr. Girls, Sr. Boys and Sr. Girls. Any student becoming 11 on or before June 30, 2009 must compete at the senior level.

The following events will be held (based on previous years):
50 meter
100 meter
200 meter
400 meter
800 meter
4x100 meter relay
Shot Put (6 lb.)
Running Long Jump
Standing Broad Jump
If you have a son or daughter that is interested in competing, please email me at rmaccabe@nb.sympatico.ca by March 1st. The fee is $10 per student and there may be a small additional fee that will go towards facility rent (required by each "school"). We are limited to two athletes per individual event per division (3 in the 800m and one relay team per division), so if your child knows what event he/she would like to enter, please notify me in your response. We will fill up the events on a first come, first serve basis.
